Farook College P. M. Institute is an institute of difference exclusively devoted for grooming the young aspirants for the Indian civil services like IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, IES etc. Mr. Mohamedali Shihab and Dr. Ilyas stand among the toppers of the rank list selected for the Indian civil services. While celebrating its Diamond Jubilee, Farook College has crowned one more feather on its cap by achieving this glittering success of these two candidates. The P. M. Institute of civil services examination started 10 years back an experiment in a conventional campus is now harvesting the hard work it has paid through out these years by providing systematic training to the young aspirants selected by screening through admission test and interview. It is a one year residential training program by offering optional subjects Geography, Public Administration and Malayalam literature along with General studies and current affairs and essay writing. The sessions are handled by a panel of resource persons with rich experience in the field of civil services examination training and the institute is conducting a test series for all these optional subjects and general studies on the new pattern of Civil Services Aptitude Test (C-SAT). Mr. Mohamedali Shihab appeared the civil service main exam for the first time last October and wrote his optional subjects history and literature, also the general studies and essays in Malayalam language medium. He appeared before the UPSC board for the personality test and gave his interview also in Malayalam medium. Ilyas, a dentist by profession, joined the Institute for full time regular training and it is his third attempt in the civil service main examination. Earlier he had qualified the civil service exam and selected for the Indian Information Service, but somehow because of the reservation case pending before the honourable court he couldn't join the service. Dr. Ilyas stands 404th rank in the list of successful candidates and he is likely to be selected for IPS or IRS.
